India’s number four batsman Ambati Rayudu has been reported for a suspected action. Rayudu had bowled two overs in the first ODI against Australia and he will undergo testing within 14 days. Meanwhile, the match report was handed over to India’s think tank after the completion of the first game of the series.

Subsequently, Rayudu’s action will be observed and till then he can bowl further in the series. Rayudu gave 13 runs in his two overs as he was not able to hit the right areas. The off-spinner was short in his length and gave away looseners to the Australian batsmen.

Furthermore, Rayudu could not make any impact with the bat as well. The right-hander was plumbed in front for a golden duck by Australia’s Jhye Richardson, who scalped four wickets. Moreover, he wasted the review and then MS Dhoni had to walk back despite been not out as there were no reviews left in the bag.

Meanwhile, Ambati Rayudu has done well with the bat in the recent past. Rayudu has all but ended India’s number four woes as he scored a fine hundred while playing against the Windies. Furthermore, he was a consistent performer in the Asia Cup.

Thus, Rayudu will like to carry on in a similar fashion and prove his mettle while playing in the overseas conditions. On the other hand, India lost the first match of the series by 34 runs.

Australia posted a par score of 288 runs after electing to bat first. Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb and Shaun Marsh scored fifties. However, Rohit Sharma’s valiant knock of 133 runs went in vain as there was no support from the other end.
