India’s five-member selection committee headed by former wicketkeeper MSK Prasad will get a bonus of INR 20 lakhs. The selection committee will get the reward money for Indian team successful tour of Australia. The T20I series against Australia was tied 1-1. India then went on to win their maiden Test series on the Australian soil as they won by 2-1.

India won the first Test match at Adelaide by 31 runs where Cheteshwar Pujara scored 194 runs in the match. Pujara scored 123 runs in the first innings and then scored another fine knock of 71 runs in the second dig. Thus, he was awarded the Man of the match in the first Test match.

Indian team ticked the right boxes.

Mr. Vinod Rai, Chairman, CoA, said as per BCCI.tv, “We are extremely proud of the way Team India have performed in Australia. We had announced cash rewards for cricketers and support staff earlier and are now rewarding selectors. The five men have played a crucial role in picking a balanced Indian squad and offering the team management enough options to work around different combinations. The boys have chosen to represent the Indian team went about their task in a fearless manner and stood up in challenging situations”.

However, India lost the second Test match at Perth by 146 runs. Though the visitors made a solid comeback as they won the third Test match by 137 runs where Jasprit Bumrah scalped nine wickets for 86 runs at MCG. Thus, Bumrah was adjudged the Man of the match.

India was in a shoo-in position in the final and fourth Test match but the bad light and rain evaded them from the winning margin of 3-1. Meanwhile, India didn’t have a good start to the ODI series as they lost the opening match by 34 runs.

However, they won the second ODI by six wickets to stay afloat in the series. Men in Blue clinched the third and final ODI by seven wickets to bag the ODI series by 2-1. Thus, it was a fine performance from the Indian team as they had a succcessful tour of Australia and ticked the right boxes.
