MS Dhoni continued his stellar form as Indian National Cricket team beats Australia by seven wickets at Melbourne to win their first-ever bilateral series in Australia. Previously, Yuzvendra Chahal starred with the ball to bowl out the Aussies for a moderate total of 230 runs.

Although the finishing runs came off Kedar Jadhav’s bat, it is MS Dhoni who was unbeaten on 87 and was the glue that held the chase together — more so after Jhye Richardson accounted for Kohli for 46 in the 30th over. India lost Rohit early in the chase and then a set Dhawan later. Kohli looked in control alongside MS Dhoni, but the pressure of a few dots at the other end probably got to him. Kedar Jadhav walked in, showed great support, listened to Dhoni’s instructions, which is why he didn’t try and attack early.

Previously, Bhuvneshwar Kumar put India on track with his early strikes before Yuzvendra Chahal came into the game. The leg-spinner broke the partnership between Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja and there was no stopping him. He added Marcus Stoinis, Jhye Richardson, Peter Handscomb and Adam Zampa to his kitty. Mohammed Shami hits the final nail in the coffin. He cleans up Stanlake and the hosts are rolled over within 50 overs. Most of the Australian batsmen got starts but none could go past Handscomb’s 58. Chahal became the first spinner to return with six scalps on Australian soil while Shami and Kumar chipped in with two wickets to rattle the hosts for a moderate total.

Yuzvendra Chahal, who returned with six for 42 became the first spinner to pick six wickets in Australia. He single-handedly demolished the Aussies batting to bowl them out for 230. Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, Chahal admitted that he enjoyed bowling Australia. In addition to, he admitted that he is looking forward to the series against New Zealand.

“I enjoyed bowling for the first time in Australia (internationals). The ball was spinning a little bit, so I planned to bowl slow and vary my pace. Looking forward to the New Zealand series,” Chahal said.
