Aaron Finch, the experienced player in the Australian circuit has been one of the misfired guns in the ongoing series between Australia and India. He was cleaned up by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in both ODI’s of the game to see his name on the bottom of run-scorers’ list of the series. Meanwhile, he would like to take a boost from his past records.

The third and final ODI of the 3-match series is set to be played at Aaron Finch’s home ground. He would like to make the most of the opportunity and make things happen for Australia in the deciding ODI of the series.

The Australian skipper quoted that he has been a bit tentative in his approach in the last couple of games. Further, he wants to make a note of his mistakes and inspire from his past records to come good at his home ground.

It is a case of going back to my natural game – Aaron Finch

Finch has played a lot of cricket at Melbourne right from his childhood and also for the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League. Aaron also cited that he would like to look at his 13 ODI centuries and take a cue from it to deliver the goods.

“Maybe I’ve been too tentative in the last couple of games, letting a bit of pressure build up,” Finch confessed on Thursday (January 17) in Melbourne. “It’s always a fine balance between attack and hanging in there and waiting for the right time to sort of be aggressive and take on the game. I still feel I’m a very good player. I think 13 international hundreds suggest that I do know what is required.”

“It’s just a case of getting through that initial part and probably looking to put a bit of pressure back on the bowler. I think at the moment I’ve just been a little bit tentative in my thought process and in my footwork at times. I think it’s just about going back to my natural game and just letting that flow and finding the right rhythm.”

Well, as Aaron Finch said, it might be a matter of staying at the crease for him to come good. With the series victory at stake, Australian skipper would like to bat for his country at any cost.

This is also the best chance for ”Aaron Finch – The Skipper” to end the drought of their losses from the past few months. The third and final ODI of the series is to be played on Friday at Melbourne Cricket Grounds.
