Well, it has been a stupendous victory for India in the Australian conditions. For the first time ever, India has tasted the success in the longer version of the game in Australia. Meanwhile, hailing the boys, the former Indian opening batsman Gautam Gambhir comes up with a brilliant message to the people of India.

India won the Adelaide Test and Melbourne Test to win 2 games in the series while Australia achieved victory at Perth. With the SCG Test being drawn because of the steady rain on Day 4 and 5, India will be walking into the ODI series with the Trophy.

Let’s not debate on the absence of Steven Smith-David Warner: Gautam Gambhir

Coming back to the topic, the former opener asked all the people of India to enjoy the victory and be proud of it. He doesn’t want anyone to point out the absence of David Warner and Steven Smith, who were out of the bilateral series.

Further, he feels that it is the biggest moment in the sporting nation like India. Gautam Gambhir doesn’t want any debates on the series victory. Instead, he wants every individual to be united and enjoy the success down under.

Digging into his tweet, it read ”Congratulations India on a stupendous victory. It’s a big day for us as a sporting nation. For once, let’s not debate or dissect the impact of the absence of Warner/Smith, let’s just savour the moment and be proud. Let’s be together on this one at least!”

Coming into this fourth Test, the day 5 morning began with similar dark clouds as seen throughout Sunday. Right at the supposed start of play, rain arrived to prevent any possibility of cricket happening at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Hence, the match was called off at 2.30 pm local time, with no possibility of further play.

With India already having the 2-1 lead, they retained the trophy successfully. Now, they will head into the 3-match ODI series before leaving back home. After that, they will be locking horns against Kiwis.
