Indian National Cricket team registered their first-ever bilateral series win in Australia as they beat the hosts by seven wickets at Melbourne to win the three-match series 2-1. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni (87* off 114) and Kedar Jadhav (61* off 57) put on an unbroken 121 to seal the chase after Yuzvendra Chahal’s six-wicket haul had kept Australia to 230.

However, the target wasn’t daunting, but on a tricky surface, the chase took a lot out of India, especially after Peter Siddle sent back Rohit Sharma early. However, once MS Dhoni was in the middle, he soaked in all the pressure while others played their usual game. Dhoni first stitched a small partnership of 54 runs with Virat Kohli. Once Kohli got out four short of his half-century, Dhoni took in charge along with Kedar Jadhav. The all-rounder did a great job of listening MS Dhoni’s instruction and not be over-aggressive.

The duo paced the innings brilliantly keeping in check with the required run-rate. Although Kedar Jadhav struck the winning runs, it was MS Dhoni was the mastermind behind the run chase. Following the win, Jadhav took to Twitter to praise Dhoni saying that it is always a learning curve batting with him.

Great series Mahibhai @msdhoni Always get to learn a lot from you. Thank You for guiding me yesterday also. Keep entertaining us all,” Kedar Jadhav tweeted.

Previously, Bhuvneshwar Kumar made the early damage removing both the Australian openers. Since then, it was Yuzvendra Chahal who ran over the Aussie batting. He returned with six wickets becoming the first spinner to achieve so in Australia as Australia were all out for 230. Mohammed Shami also chipped in with two wickets to finish the tour on a high.
