Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has praised Indian National Cricket team clinical run chase in the second one-day international against Australia at Sydney to level the series 1-1.
Chasing a stiff target of 299 runs, India started the on a high unlike the other day as Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma looked on song. Both struck fluent boundaries and are putting the pressure on Australia’s bowlers to notch 27 runs in just five overs. Although Dhawan (32) departed Rohit and Virat Kohli looked ominous. However, an untimely wicket of Rohit Sharma once again put India on the backfoot.
MS Dhoni announces his arrival
But Kohli took control of the game on his hands as he paced the innings beautifully. He designed his knock mostly with ones and two stitching partnerships with Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni. However, Kohli departed soon after reaching his 39th century at mid-wicket leaving the game wide open. The former skipper who received a lot of flak for his slow knock in Sydney anchored the innings beautifully to steer India home as he announces his arrival ahead of the World Cup.
Their first burst of momentum came from targetting debutant Mohammed Siraj, which set things rolling for the hosts. The others in the lineup played around Marsh well. Glenn Maxwell, who batted at No 7 played some shots down the order to propel Australia to a good score.
Following India’s win, Sachin Tendulkar congratulated the team of bringing the series at even stevens. He also praised Virat Kohli for his fabulous knock and hailed MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik for taking their side over the rope.
“A great win and a fabulous innings by @imVkohli. Yet another at his adopted home ground. Excellent role played by @msdhoni and @DineshKarthik to take India over the line.
#INDvAUS,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.
