Australia vs India 2018/19: Watch Glenn Maxwell Imitates MS Dhoni's Helicopter Shot

Recently, we came across Glenn Maxwell doing impressions of certain players for a video game. Now, he enacted the India stalwart player Mahendra Singh Dhoni in a similar style. As MS Dhoni is visiting Australia to play Three ODI games, the Australian swashbuckling batsman Glenn Maxwell welcomed MS Dhoni by imitating his helicopter stroke.

Earlier, Glenn Maxwell has proven himself to be a very good impersonator, having imitated South African legend AB De Villiers as well as fellow countrymen Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis, and Ricky Ponting in the past. However, the latest in his enactment features Dhoni’s famous helicopter shot, which made fans go crazy.

While doing the video, Glenn Maxwell recollected the memory saying that he dropped MS Dhoni’s catch in the previous delivery of James Faulkner. Thanking for the same, MS Dhoni smashed next ball out of the park, which travelled 115 metres from his presence.

“Indian legend MS Dhoni. Unfortunately, there was a game where I dropped him. Then he played this next shot and hit it out of the stadium. Felt really good after that. He hit it 115 metres out of the ground. I think it was off James Faulkner’s bowling as well. Oh dear,” Maxwell said.

Coming to the professional work, currently, he is plying his trade for  Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League and has chipped in with a few good knocks for them. Besides batting responsibility, he is also leading the side.

Glenn Maxwell will return to the Australian ODI squad against India which will kick off next week. The three-match series will be good preparation for either side ahead of the ICC World Cup 2019.

Meanwhile, coming to Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the upcoming 3-match ODI series is pretty much important for him. Of late, he hasn’t had good games in Indian Jersey, which draw a huge criticism for him. This is also the time for him to get into zone ahead of ICC World Cup 2019.
