Meanwhile, India are staring at their first-ever series win Down Under as they lead the series 2-1 with the last Test going on. Currently, Virat Kohli & Co have enforced a follow-on in the Sydney Test after bowling them out for 300. Kuldeep Yadav was the star of the show returning with five-wickets in his very first Test in Australia. Previously, India declared at 622 for seven with centuries from Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant.

This team has played superb and fantastic cricket and beating Australia in Australia is a great achievement, because Australia is a tough team in those conditions,” Vengsarkar told PTI on Sunday.

This is a fantastic achievement by Virat Kohli’s team. Australia has tough conditions for touring teams, but the way they (Indian team) have adapted to these conditions is exemplary to say the least. Every team is rated on how they perform outside their own country and this Indian team has made us proud and they have done so well,” Dilip Vengsarkar added.

The start was very good

Pravin Amre noted that Indian National Cricket team had a very good start their series which set the tone of the series. Notably, he said that the win in the Boxing Day Test was outstanding.

In every series, the first Test is important and the way we started, that was critical. Equally important was Australia to (make a) come back and win the match (second Test). I think, most important was the third Test, the way we played, that was outstanding,” Amre said.

Amre also lauded the bowling attack which has improved a lot in the recent times. The fast bowlers have fared well in the Test series this picking all the 20 wickets in most of the series.

India was having a strong batting line-up, but it was a question of getting 20 wickets consistently. That is what is happening over the last four series and that is very critical,” he concluded.
