The hopes of eight consecutive T20I series win are gone for the Indian team, as rain played a spoilsport in the second T20I. In fact, India were favourites to chase down the total and it was a lucky escape for the hosts. Thus, Australia moves to Sydney Cricket Ground while carrying their 1-0 lead in the ongoing T20I series. Subsequently, Australia is the only team that has a chance to win this series. Here is the Match Prediction.

Meanwhile, India can now best draw the series if they go on to move the final T20I. The tourist’s bowlers had ticked the right boxes in the second game after taking a thrashing in the series opener. Hence, India was able to make a solid comeback and would like to carry their form.

India will like to make it 1-1.

India’s inexperienced bowlers Khaleel Ahmed and Krunal Pandya who were taken to cleaners in the first T20I were backed by team management. In fact, both the rookie players were able to do justice to the trust which was shown in them.

Khaleel got his revenge against Chris Lynn who had hit him for 21 runs in the first match. On the other hand, Krunal Pandya also got his vengeance against Glenn Maxwell with a peach of a delivery.

On the other hand, Australia will be boosted by the return of Mitchell Starc in their bowling line-up. Starc has replaced the injured Billy Stanlake and can be a great addition to Australia’s playing XI.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli had come to bat at the number four position in the first match. However, Kohli isn’t a hard hitter of the ball and likes to find gaps to get his runs. Thus, it makes more sense for the Indian captain to bat at his signature position of number three.

India will want their deputy Rohit Sharma to come to the party as he can be deadly dangerous in the shortest version of the game. Rohit scored only seven runs in the opener of the series and it would be a perfect platform for him to unleash himself on the Australian bowling attack.

Match Prediction:

It is always difficult to pick out a favourite especially in the T20I format. However, India will have the impetus of their good performance of the previous match. Therefore, the visitors will like to repeat their bowling performance. India is likely to go with the same playing XI as they had done in the second match. Meanwhile, the toss is going to play a key role.
