Australia doesn’t want any lags when they meet India for a home series later this month. Under head coach Justin Langer, the side has taken a few steps forward. Though they lost the Test series against Pakistan in the UAE and recently tasted defeat against South Africa in ODIs at home, the side looks confident to tussle against a potent Indian team. Meanwhile, playing against India, the spin will be a huge factor and the Australian management is eager to rope in Mumbai-based wrist spinner, Pradeep Sahu.

An Indian Talent in Demand

The 33-year-old played for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL and is currently knocking the doors to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. Apart from Langer, the side’s bowling coach – S Sriram and team manager, Gavin Dovey are interested in having the Indian domestic talent.

Sahu hasn’t given a green sign as of yet and said that if time permits he would be happy to help.

“I have not said yes to them yet, but if my schedule here permits me, I am happy to help them [Australia],” said Sahu.

The veteran is looking to find a place in the domestic circuit and also has an eye on the IPL camps.

“It all depends on my matches here and IPL camps or if I get a call for the Mumbai Ranji team. If I am free, I am ready to help them,” said Sahu, who played 13 first-class games for Haryana.

In his age, the cricketer said he isn’t much bothered about it as he is putting up consistent shows.

“Age is just a number, and it doesn’t matter if you bowl well. I can still play for five to six years. I am performing consistently here in Mumbai and have claimed more than three wickets in every game. I am waiting for my turn; I am hoping to make the Mumbai Ranji team.” Sahu concluded.
