The Board of Control for Cricket in India has revealed the reason for the exclusion of Ishant Sharma. The lanky fast bowler is experiencing some rib cage discomfort which has ruled him out of the fourth and final Test match against Australia. Consequently, the team management didn’t want to take the risk with Ishant Sharma.

Meanwhile, India has announced their 13-man squad in which they have added Umesh Yadav. However, the final decision to play Ravichandran Ashwin will be taken at the time of toss. India also has added Kuldeep Yadav and could play two spinners in the final Test match.

“He is experiencing some left rib cage discomfort and the team management did not want to risk him during this Test match. He is currently being assessed,” the statement read from BCCI.

On the other hand, Ishant Sharma has been the leader of India’s pack. He was India’s leading wicket-taker of the England tour and scalped 19 wickets in the five Test matches. Thus, India is going to miss the services of the experienced campaigner.

Furthermore, it would be interesting to note who will replace Rohit Sharma in the playing XI. KL Rahul has made the cut into the 13-man squad and he can a get a nod from the think tank.

India is leading the four-match Test series by 2-1 after winning the third Test match by 137 runs. Moreover, the visitors have retained the Border-Gavaskar trophy.
