Former Australian batsman Dean Jones took a sly dig at India’s number three batsman Cheteshwar Pujara. The right-handed Pujara said conceding 500 runs in the warm-up match doesn’t mean anything. Indian bowlers had struggled to hit the straps in the warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI. Thus, the hosts had piled up a gargantuan total of 544 in their batting innings.
Cricket Australia XI had kept the Indian bowlers for 151 overs in the field. Hence, the tourists had to sweat it out for their wickets. Dean Jones said it matters a lot to the young batsmen who scored such a gigantic score.
Indian bowlers will like to a solid comeback.
Cricket Australia XI side openers D’Arcy Short scored 74 whereas his opening partner Max Bryant amassed a good knock of 62 runs. Furthermore, their wicketkeeper-batsman Harry Nielsen scored a fine hundred.

Aaron Hardie, the 19-year all-rounder who scalped the big fish Virat Kohli, scored a valuable knock of 86 runs. Consequently, these good knock against a potent Indian bowling line-up must have added to the confidence of the young boys.
“Conceding 500 runs in a warm-up game doesn’t mean anything … we are not very much worried about it,” Pujara told reporters on Monday. “Our bowlers know what they have to do … they know what line and lengths to bowl in Australia.”
Meanwhile, Indian bowlers have been right on the money in the recent past. However, they would like to tighten the screws on in the first Test match against Australia. The Indian pace battery has delivered the goods in recent times and must have taken their lessons from the warm-up match.
