Australia vs India 2018: Hosts Name Same XI for Perth Test

Cricket Australia (CA) on Thursday (December 13) announced that skipper Tim Paine would be available for the second Test against India commencing from December 14 at Perth following an injury scare. Moreover, Australia has named an unchanged playing XI for the impending Test against India. However, Aaron Finch will retain his place at the top of the batting order.

Meanwhile, the right-handed batsman Paine earlier suffered a blow on his right hand’s index finger during the 31-run loss against the visitors at Adelaide.

In 2010, Paine underwent surgery after a finger injury.

Paine is fit to play Perth Test

Previously, head coach Justin Langer also backed Paine while saying the latter is a strong man and will surely recover before the Perth Test. He sustained an injury on his troublesome finger during the Adelaide Test.

It was Mohammad Shami’s delivery that hit Paine’s index finger and during the final day’s play.

In addition to, Paine has confirmed that his finger is fine during the post-match presentation. However, the skipper has regained full fitness on the eve of the second Test. The right-hander also played a crucial role in the second essay of the first Test. His 41-run knock helped Aussies owing to the precarious situation.

Furthermore, Paine is also known to the toughest individual. Many former cricketers including present coach applaud the cricketer for his brilliant bravery.

However, he couldn’t put up a great show in the first Test and will try to put more effort to deliver with his bat. He will also like to get something more from the pace attack as Perth will assist pace and bounce.
