Harbhajan Singh, the veteran off-spinner feels team India has the best chance to win a series when they visit Australia later this year for a series across formats.
Meanwhile, the visitors will play three ODIs and T20Is along with a four-match Test series starting from November 21. Australia will be without their star players Steven Smith and David Warner, who are out due to suspensions. On India’s chances in the forthcoming tour, Harbhajan said this is the best chances for India to go there and win Down Under.
“This Australian team has hardly big names. It is not going to be a cakewalk but India have the best chance as the home team will be without some top players like David Warner or Steve Smith. I hope India win the series,” Harbhajan Singh added.
Speaking on Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the current one-day set-up, Harbhajan said it is a good competition if there are more options.
“Obviously it is a good sign. You need to find the best combination. Jadeja can bring a lot with the bat as well. Kuldeep is a champion bowler and takes wickets. Chahal has done quite well.
The team has to decide which combination is the best and my view is that all three should be part of the team to next year’s World Cup. Why not? You have to choose the best, whether it is fast bowler or spinner,” Harbhajan Singh added.
Meanwhile, the fifth and the final ODI against Windies is on November 1 (Thursday) at Thiruvananthapuram.
