As Rohit Sharma and Ravichandran Ashwin join injury list ahead of Perth Test, at the same time, many thought India would be in deep trouble. However, after watching the Perth pitch and the 13-member roster, it seemed like India has got quality replacements in their ranks against Australia. But, what surprised everyone is about the selection of Umesh Yadav ahead of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja. Pointing out the same, Michael Vaughan feels it was a ‘mistake’.

There requires a no-brainer for the replacement of Rohit, as Hanuma Vihari is quite a suitable candidate for the number six slot. But picking speedster Umesh ahead of Bhuvneshwar and Jadeja was a shocker for many fans.

Moreover, Both Bhuvaneshwar and Jadeja are capable of handling their services in the batting department as well.

Australia to win – Predicts Michael Vaughan:

The former English cricketer Vaughan, who is also in the commentary section for the ongoing series reiterated India eventually committed the blunder by not picking Jadeja for the much-awaited Perth Test.

Vaughan believes that it is not about the bowling department, but the exclusion of Jadeja will affect the scorecard. Vaughan said India lacks owing to a long tail against quality Australian pace attack.

Digging into his tweet, it read: ”Think India have made a mistake not playing Ravindra Jadeja. Not only for his bowling but his Batting at No 8 … India have a very long tail this Week … Aussies to win.”

Well, as, Vaughan said, the decision to drop Jadeja for Umesh seems like a mistake for obvious reasons. As far as day one is concerned, Umesh wasn’t at his best to make an impact on the game.

However, the long-tail will leave an extra-pressure on top-order batsmen. They need to play out of their skins on a tough soil to bat. Unless any majestic knocks by India’s batsmen, it is going to be a tough deal for Virat Kohli-led side.

I just love what I script. Over the years, Cricket has been my passion and crisping articles on it gives me an immense pleasure...Cheers...!!!
