Australia vs India 2018: Internet Slams KL Rahul for yet Another Poor Outing

The India batsman, KL Rahul failed once again with the bat, and his spot in the side is very much in question. Meanwhile, the flamboyant cricketer promised a lot considering the skill-set he posses but failed to deliver yet again. In his last six T20Is, Rahul has been unable to reach the 30-run mark even once. His strike rate against Australia in Sydney was way below ordinary, as he struggled to find gaps.

KL Rahul’s form a worrying factor

The Indian team can afford to have a sigh of relief though, as they beat Australia in the final T20I in Sydney. With the hosts enjoying a 1-0 lead going into the 3rd T20I; Virat Kohli and Co. had to put their act together.

They did it in style, as the men in blue cruised home with a couple of balls to spare. Kohli found his groove Down Under with a gritty unbeaten fifty while Dinesh Karthik played yet another good knock.

Hits and misses for team India

Opener Shikhar Dhawan followed up from where he had left in Brisbane. Dhawan hit a quick-fire 41 and set the tempo for the visitors. The chase of 165 runs looked smooth once skipper Kohli and Dinesh Karthik joined forces.

However, Karthik remained unbeaten on 22 off 18 balls while captain Kohli hit the winning runs and remained not out on 61 off 41 deliveries. Meanwhile, India still has plenty of problems to address, and one is the form of KL Rahul. The batter has got a long rope from the selectors, but the fans aren’t happy at all. Twitter was furious over the poor run of Rahul. While many blamed the Indian selectors for opting for him, others felt his time is up.

Also, Cricket commentator, Harsha Bhogle urged the Indian side to find a slot for in-form Dinesh Karthik, and many joined in to have their say on Rahul as well. Bhogle’s tweet read,

” India have to find a way to use this magnificent form that Dinesh Karthik is in. He is batting better than at any other time in his career.”

It’s still a mystery for me how Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul play ahead of Dinesh Karthik in ODIs. Maybe he fails on tattoo criteria.
