Sunil Gavaskar, the legendary India cricketer, has labeled wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav as the match-winner for India in the upcoming four-match Test series against Australia.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep made his Test debut against Australia in 2017 and also grabbed a hat-trick in the ODI series against them last year. Although India have picked only one spinner for the first Test, Gavaskar has backed two spinners strategy.

Wrist spinners have success in Australia because there is bounce on those pitches. Australia batsmen struggled against Kuldeep Yadav in the T20s. He can be a match-winner for India in the Test series,” Gavaskar told Aaj Tak.

India is yet to win a Test series in Australia as they have managed to win only five Tests out of 44 matches. However, Sunil Gavaskar made a bold prediction that India should win the series by a 3-0 margin.

India should win this series and by a 3-0 margin. Melbourne Test may end up in a draw because of rain and that’s what I feel,” Gavaskar said.

Indian bowling capable of picking 20 wickets

India’s bowlers will once again be in the focus when India and Australia face-off in the four-match Test series starting in Adelaide from December 6. Sunil Gavaskar said India have a great bowling attack and is capable of picking 20 wickets in a match.

They have a good bowling attack with Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon in the side and it won’t be easy to face them. But India have experienced batsmen.

The likes of Murali Vijay, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane not only have a wealth of experience but also have the ability to turn things around. Australia lack experience in the batting department and our bowling attack is capable of taking 20 wickets,” Gavaskar concluded.

The first of the four-match Test series between Australia and India will commence from December 6 at the Adelaide Oval.
