Former Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has slammed International Cricket Council (ICC) for releasing false quotes on his name praising Indian National Cricket team fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Meanwhile, Johnson has been the recent target for Indian fans after former trolled the visiting Indian team on various occasions on Twitter.

After a series of targeted tweets and digs, Johnson finally praised Indian pacer Bumrah and Ishant Sharma.

The bowler who impressed me most is Jasprit Bumrah. He has a unique action but is very consistent with his line and length. He hardly bowls a loose delivery, which means he is hard to score off and any batsman will think twice before taking him on. The pressure he creates at one end often leads to wickets tumbling at the other,” icc-cricket.com quoted Mitchell Johnson.

But as things pan out, Mitchell Johnson had never said these lines to anyone. The former pacer took to Twitter to slam the ICC Cricket’s official Twitter handle for sharing an interview which he had never given. After watching the tweet, ICC had deleted the conversation from its site.

Where has this come from? I don’t recall this. Who wrote this? I do agree with parts of it but I never sat down with anyone from memory,” Johnson tweeted.

Soon after it, ICC came out to apologize Mitchell Johnson and also deleted the news from their website. They also asked him to get in touch if he needs an official clarification.

Good evening Mitch. Given your Twitter comments, we are going to unpublish the article that features quotes that have been attributed to you. Please get in touch via DM if you’d like to issue a clarification,” ICC tweeted.
