India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel gave his gratitude to the almighty God after making the Test squad for the tour of Australia. The Board of Control for Cricket in India had announced the Indian Test squad yesterday for the tour of Australia. Thus, Parthiv Patel was included as a backup keeper to Rishabh Pant.

Pant will be India’s first choice wicketkeeper as the Delhi player has done well after making his Test debut in England. Meanwhile, Parthiv Patel had received his opportunity on the tour of South Africa.

Wriddhiman Saha was injured during the first Test match and Patel had played the remaining two Test matches in South Africa. However, Patel was not able to grab his chances.

Subsequently, he could not find his place for the one-off Test match against Afghanistan. Furthermore, the southpaw batsman didn’t make the cut for the England tour.

“He was not picked for Afghanistan and England. But subsequently, he played Duleep Trophy. He batted and kept well. We have brought in youth and experience, we wanted him because it will be a high-intensity series. He can bat anywhere in the top-order. Considering all these factors we have picked him,” MSK Prasad said while talking in the press conference.
