Mitchell Marsh, who missed out the playing XI for the Adelaide Test has said the plans are well set for Virat Kohli. Though the India captain and his form have been a talking point ahead of the first Test, Marsh is confident of Australia breaking through Virat’s skill set. Meanwhile, first of the four Tests will begin in Adelaide on Thursday.

Aussies all ready to trouble the Indian batsman

Mitchell Marsh further added the plans are just not for Virat Kohli but the other batsmen as well. The all-rounder says if people think Australia would keep the onus on Virat only, they’d be pretty silly.

“We all know Virat’s a great player. We’ll have our plans for him and hopefully we can execute them. But if people think we’re not prepared for the other batsmen in the Indian team, who are all very good players, then they’d be pretty silly,”  Mitchell Marsh said.

Moreover, Mitchell Marsh said seeing the lack of experience and new faces in the Australian batting order, it can be considered as a golden opportunity for them to win Tests. He also opined the team is in good spirits ahead of the Adelaide Test.

“There’s obviously been a lot of talk about that, and it’s been a big build-up to this Test match, but there’s a great feeling around this group…now it’s about going out there and hopefully putting it together as a batting unit. But we all feel really good at the moment,” he added.

The Australian vice-captain also spoke about the Indian spin challenge. Knowing the Indian spinners doesn’t have a rich history Down Under, they are still world-class. Marsh also said the Australians have plans to tackle the spin challenge as well.

“We know R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav are all world-class spinners. History shows that Indian spinners haven’t had as much impact over here as they have in India. But they’re world-class bowlers, and we’re very prepared for them. It will be a great contest,” he replied.

Meanwhile, the Adelaide pitch curator had mentioned that the surface didn’t change for the game. Concluding this, Marsh said both batsmen and bowlers would enjoy their game.
