Indian skipper Virat Kohli is proud to be part of the current team. Kohli took to his Twitter to account to share his post after India won the third Test match by 137 runs to go 2-1 up in the series. Hence, India has retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as they had won it previous time by 2-1 in India.

Meanwhile, the visitors came up with a collective team effort. Cheteshwar Pujara scored a gutsy knock of 106 from 319 balls. Furthermore, Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarwal and Rohit Sharma contributed with fifties to take India to 443 in the first innings. Virat Kohli scored 82 runs in the first essay and added a pivotal partnership of 170 runs with Pujara.

Subsequently, India came up with fine bowling performance. The visitors were able to skittle out the hosts for a paltry score of 151 runs in the first dig. Thus, they enjoyed a healthy lead of 292 runs.

However, Virat Kohli decided not to enforce the follow-on and India batted again. Though the plan didn’t go well as planned as the tourists kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

India made 106-8 to give a daunting target of 399 runs to the hosts. The visitors came up with a collective bowling effort in the second innings. Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets each whereas Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma took two wickets apiece.

On the other hand, the pace troika of Ishant, Bumrah and Shami have made the record of most wickets in a calendar year. Thus, they have been a massive difference and have been instrumental in the success of the team.
