The injury headache of Ravichandran Ashwin is still the same, as there is no definite report came from the medical department of Indian National Cricket Team. It certainly left the Indian team in a puzzle ahead of the Boxing Day Test.

Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri on Sunday stated that spinner Ravichandran Ashwin remains doubtful for the third Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Ashwin, who missed the second Test at Perth with an abdominal strain, will be assessed over the next couple of days.

Rohit Sharma looks good, Hardik Pandya is fit:

Furthermore, Shastri said Rohit Sharma has made an improvement and gave a clear thumbs up for Hardik Pandya. However, he feels that Rohit Sharma will be assessed once again before taking a final call.

Ravi Shastri quoted that Hardik Pandya will give them an option to give the perfect balance to the side. But, in the meantime, Ravi Shastri highlighted the fact that Hardik hasn’t got the considerable match practice to make things happen. He wants to take a call by considering all the factors and put their best XI on the MCG wicket.

”As far as Ashwin is concerned, we are going to take a look and evaluate over the next 48 hours. Rohit Sharma looks good, he has made a very good improvement. But then again, we have to see how he pulls up tomorrow. He looks good as of today. Pandya is fit,” International Cricket Council quoted the coach, as saying.

“It gives you that option. He hasn’t played much first-class cricket though, he has played just one game after the injury. We have to be careful before we actually decide on whether he plays or not,” Shastri added.

Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for India. Most probably, they would bring in a couple of changes to their playing XI that played in Perth Test
