It is a famous saying that experience cannot be bought in the market. India required 20 from the last 11 balls after Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant helped the team bounce back. 20 from 11 is very gettable in a T20I format and Pant went for a rash shot, which didn’t come off. Thus, the southpaw inexperience was on display as it would have been better had he gone for a normal cricketing shot.

However, Pant had gone the right shot but the execution wasn’t there. The field was perfect for the shot as there was a short third man in the 30-yard circle. In fact, Pant has played such shots in the past which have come good for him. It should be noted that sometimes it clicks in a format like T20I and sometimes it doesn’t.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that there is nothing like a natural game in any sport. A player needs to adapt himself to different situations and conditions and should play accordingly. The player should gauge the situation and play like what is best for his side. A batsman should not get away by saying, That’s my natural game and I will play like it irrespective of the match situation.
