Shaun Marsh had a forgettable tour to UAE which took on the Pakistan side. He has been knocked for cheap scores whenever he took the field for Australia. He was also tried in various batting slots but unfortunately, never succeeded in doing it right. However, he wants to make a turnaround with the series against India by taking some motivation from his previous knocks when he partnered Steven Smith.

With Australia having an inexperienced lineup in their ranks, they would undoubtedly expect Shaun Marsh to stand tall in the crease against Indians. For the same, Marsh is trying to get some positivity from his old knocks.

I constantly go back to watch my partnership with Steven Smith – Shaun Marsh

Shaun Marsh reminisces those great partnerships he had against England with Steven Smith. Last year has seen the stylish southpaw ticking all the boxes to help Australia clinch the prestigious Ashes Trophy as well.

Ahead of the first Test against Team India, Marsh is trying to get back his confidence by watching those magical knocks of him. He also showered words of praise on Steven Smith for his incredible assistance while batting together.

“I constantly go back to that and watch my innings. I think it’s important for me to go back to that, I feel like I was batting really well last summer, I feel like I’m batting really well at the moment. We just had that connection and some great partnerships I’ll always remember the rest of my life. I feel very lucky to have done that. Hopefully, we’ve got a few more in us in the future,” Shaun Marsh said.

“When you’re batting at the other end with Steve Smith it takes your mind off the fact you’re out there. You can switch off and watch him do his work – pretty awesome to watch. We both don’t really communicate much out in the middle. Keep going, watch the ball, swing hard. That’s about it. It sounds stupid but that’s really all it is when you’re batting together,” he inferred.

Well, the Australian team management would hope Shaun Marsh come good against Indians at any cost. The four-match Test series between India and Australia commences from December 6 at the Adelaide Oval.
