Former Pakistan gun fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has put his weight behind the aggression of Indian skipper Virat Kohli. The Indian captain always likes to take the bull by its horns and is often under the scanner for his aggressive nature. Kohli had exchanged quite a few words with Australian captain Tim Paine in the second Test match.
Thus, Kohli had to face criticism for his behaviour on the field. Furthermore, Kohli had also shown dissent when he was given out. However, he didn’t accept the fact that his behaviour was questionable.
On the other hand, the Rawalpindi Express has come in support of Virat Kohli. Shoaib Akhtar said that aggression is a part and parcel of the game. In fact, the former speedster said aggression is a norm when a player is playing Down Under.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is well known for his aggression. In fact, it is cognisance of the fact that aggression gets the best of the Indian skipper. Thus, it is crucial for Kohli to be true to his personality. However, Kohli is still learning as the captain of the side.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world. He is the most consistent batsman in all the three forms of the game and likes to deliver the goods every single time he goes out to bat.
Kohli had scored a majestic 123 in the first innings of the second Test match on a tough Perth pitch. Consequently, he will like to carry the same form.
Shoaib Akhtar shared his thoughts on Twitter. Akhtar post read as, “@imVkohli is one of the modern greats of the game. Aggression has been a part & parcel of competitive cricket, especially when you are playing Down Under as long as it stays in the limit. Please cut him some slack”.
