Australia vs India 2018: Success Isn't Always About Greatness - Jasprit Bumrah

Indian National Cricket Team speedster Jasprit Bumrah played his first Test series against Australia, and he is pleased with the historic win on Boxing Day Test. Team India has performed exceptionally well and deserved the win at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). As a result of the win, Virat Kohli’s men are leading the four-match Test series 2-1 after winning the Melbourne Test by 137 runs.

A dream win for us – Bumrah

Meanwhile, in his first year of Test cricket, Jasprit Bumrah claimed three five-wicket hauls  overseas. The other two came against South Africa and England.  He hit a new high in the Boxing Day Test at the MCG – his match haul of 9 for 86 is now the best by an Indian quick in Australia. It was central to India claiming a 2-1 series lead, which meant they retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In addition to that, India have managed to win the Boxing Day Test for the first time. Previously India lost the Boxing Day Test five times and managed to draw it two times in Australia. While speaking about Team India’s performance, you can’t deny the fact that the batsmen have also done a pretty decent job in the first innings of the game. Cheteshwar Pujara was the lone centurion who slammed his second hundred in the series. Along with him, debutant Mayank Agarwal played some excellent cricket scoring 76 runs in the first essay. Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli were the other two half-centurions from India.

Furthermore, Jasprit Bumrah is delighted with the first Boxing Day Test win. He also added that it was a dream win for him and he wants to keep his consistency to provide goods to his nation. He is also awarded the Man of the Match for his brilliant contribution.

With the win, India now leads the four-match series 2-1. However, the final Test match is set to be played in Sydney, starting January 2, 2019.
