Bishan Singh Bedi, the former Indian National Cricket team skipper, shared high praise Ajinkya Rahane for his attacking unbeaten half-century on day two of the second Test against Australia at Perth.

Meanwhile, Rahane failed to add his overnight score of 51 runs as he departed early in the morning. However, he looked elegant on day two as he dominated the hosts bowling attack. He left the balls outside off while capitalising on the loose balls.

Bishan Singh Bedi lauded Rahane saying that the way Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane were complementing each other was a lovely sight.

Ajinkya Rahane played a superb knock (51 not out) today. Absolutely brilliant…the captain (Virat Kohli) and the vice-captain (Rahane) were complementing each other. It was a lovely sight and today was very absorbing cricket,” Bedi said.

This sort of cricket cannot be replaced by any other gimmick — whether it is T20 or I don’t know — 100 balls (cricket),” he added.
However, Bishan Singh Bedi refrained from commenting on whether it was the best chance for India to win a Test series in Australia.

We can only find out after the end of the series. I don’t want to be a predictor,” he concluded.

Trailing by 43 runs in the first innings, Indian bowlers did an excellent job as they kept picking wickets consistently. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers bagging two wickets as the hosts have already lost four wickets. Moreover, Aaron Finch had to go to the hospital after he got hit on his finger off a bouncer from Shami.

Virat Kohli & Co will look to skittle Australia quickly and chase down the target to take 2-0 ahead in the Test series.
