It has been quite a brilliant day for India in Adelaide. Despite scoring an average total, they made use of the conditions to make it look massive on the board. It was a collective team effort, where Ravichandran Ashwin led the charge. Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag showers words of praise on India post day two of the first Test.

Meanwhile, India started the day on a positive note with Ishant Sharma knocking out Aaron Finch for a duck. It was followed by Ashwin’s three-wicket spell to make the things fall in place for team India.

Ravichandran Ashwin was fantastic – Virender Sehwag

Speaking of the game, Virender Sehwag quoted it was a great day at the office for the visitors. Further, he asked Virat Kohli-led side to keep applying the pressure and also to score runs in 2nd Innings.

Digging into his tweet, it read ”Good day for India today. The bowlers were superb- Ashwin was fantastic and they have done a great job in ensuring that Australia has played defensively and lost wickets as well. India needs to maintain the pressure and score big in 2nd innings.”

As it happened:

Initially, Australia wrapped up Indian game by knocking out the remaining one wicket. However, it was the only fruitful result for them in the first couple of sessions. Finch walked back for a duck while Khawaja, Harris walked back after getting starts.

Meanwhile, Shaun Marsh continued his poor run of form while Tim Paine also failed to hang in the middle. It was Peter Handscomb, who stood in the middle for quite a period, but Bumrah rattled him with a fine piece of delivery.

However, Travis Head stuck to the crease on the other end to make the things look better for Australia. If not Head’s fifty, Australia would have been in a deep sort of trouble. All in all, an intriguing Test match is in the store in Adelaide.
