Australia vs India 2018: Twitter Questions Karun Nair, Mayank Agarwal Snub from Test Squad
Updated - 27 Oct 2018, 04:10 PM
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced an 18-member squad for Australia Tests, and much to the disappointment of Karun Nair and Mayank Agarwal, the duo didn’t find a place on the teamsheet. Meanwhile, the Twitterati questioned the call by MSK Prasad-led selection committee over this call.
Twitter unhappy with Nair, Mayank exclusion
However, India’s vice-captain in ODIs, Rohit Sharma returned to the side on the back of some fantastic performance in the limited-overs. Meanwhile, young cricketing talent, Prithvi Shaw has secured his place along with Hanuma Vihari in the 18-man squad as well.

Moreover, another inclusion which surprised everyone was that of Murali Vijay. The India opener was dropped out from the squad after the second Test in England for his poor performance. Now, after putting up some improved show in the County, the Tamil Nadu player got recalled.
Speaking of the bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah would be the pace attack along with three spinners including Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.
A few surprising returns for Australia Tests
Meanwhile, another surprising inclusion was of Parthiv Patel. He might be selected, as Wriddhiman Saha is nursing an injury.
However, Karun Nair will lead the side for the remaining two four-day games. Nair, who played only six Test matches has already scored a triple century. On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal has to wait for his maiden Test call, as he again missed the opportunity to earn the Test cap against the Baggy Green.

Mayank Agarwal joins Karun Nair in the list of players who are dropped without getting a go. #AusvInd— Aakash Chopra (@cricketaakash) October 26, 2018
If Karun Nair and Mayank Agarwal were not good enough to play in the final XI before getting dropped, why were picked in the first place?

i hope this is last opportunity given to kl rahul to perform, i know he has one century in england but that what he has done for last 7 to 8 test match, and time to give opportunities to karun nair and mayank agrwal https://t.co/t8uSnyAPK4

No MSD for T20s in Australia. No Mayank and Karun Nair in tests for Australia. Considering the limited over performances again and giving chances once again to some players. But you have to give the equal choices to Mayank and Karun Nair too #bcci #INDvsWI #IndvAus

Wtf is Rohit Sharma doing in the Australia test squad, he wasn't even in the squad against windies.
That's some next level shit there, doubt karun Nair will even look to play after this bs.— 2rs ki pepsi tera bhai sexy (@fakeboi69) October 27, 2018
Rohit was not needed in test format .He is opening the innings in the limited over format. That's enough several players got their name in squad but couldn't get a chance in the playing X/ like Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair . Karun most unluckiest player in the recent series

Why simply making players to dream to play for the national side. Let them play only Ranaji n IPL . Now said announced for Australia series no mayank agarwal and Karun Nair…… Why playing with their emotions……. I don't understand what's the strategy ????

My Experience :
Test – 6 Avg -11.8
ODI – 17 Avg – 14.6and I am selecting Team India. I am msk prasad.#NoLogic behind team selection
Why Karun Nair, Kedar Jadhav , Mayank Markande left out…?
What is the basis behind selection of Manish Pandy or Parthiv patel.#ShameBCCI

This is ridiculous! Drop Mayank Agarwal without giving a chance and not even bother about Karun Nair who played only 6 matches and scored a frickin' 300… Keep giving chances to Rahane and Rohit who have consistently failed despite so many chances…

Karun Nair again ignored…Mayank Agarwal dropped…I think there is no need for a third spinner in Australia.

Indian test team for Australia means very weak batting, so a 4-0 defeat is almost assured if Smith and co return (or even without it). Mayank aggarval, Karun Nair, and Dhawan\Pandey, Samson should have been in team instead of Rohit, Vihari,Vijay, Parthiv. So, 4-0 defeat assured.
