Australia vs India 2018: Twitter Questions Karun Nair, Mayank Agarwal Snub from Test Squad

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced an 18-member squad for Australia Tests, and much to the disappointment of Karun Nair and Mayank Agarwal, the duo didn’t find a place on the teamsheet. Meanwhile, the Twitterati questioned the call by MSK Prasad-led selection committee over this call.

Twitter unhappy with Nair, Mayank exclusion

However, India’s vice-captain in ODIs, Rohit Sharma returned to the side on the back of some fantastic performance in the limited-overs. Meanwhile, young cricketing talent, Prithvi Shaw has secured his place along with Hanuma Vihari in the 18-man squad as well.

Moreover, another inclusion which surprised everyone was that of Murali Vijay. The India opener was dropped out from the squad after the second Test in England for his poor performance. Now, after putting up some improved show in the County, the Tamil Nadu player got recalled.

Speaking of the bowling department, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah would be the pace attack along with three spinners including Kuldeep Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

A few surprising returns for Australia Tests

Meanwhile, another surprising inclusion was of Parthiv Patel. He might be selected, as Wriddhiman Saha is nursing an injury.

However, Karun Nair will lead the side for the remaining two four-day games. Nair, who played only six Test matches has already scored a triple century. On the other hand, Mayank Agarwal has to wait for his maiden Test call, as he again missed the opportunity to earn the Test cap against the Baggy Green.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli will lead the side and India will play three T20Is, four Tests and three ODIs commencing from November 21 (Wednesday).
