Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah helped Indian National Cricket Team to skittle Australia out after lunch after a wicketless morning session on day four. Chasing a target of 287 runs, Indian opener KL Rahul once again continued his poor show scoring a duck and let his team down.

Previously, at 190 for four, Australia was cruising at lunch with Usman Khawaja and skipper Tim Paine batting. Indian speedster Mohammad Shami removed the two along with opener Aaron Finch after he resumed his innings being retired hurt yesterday. Jasprit Bumrah then dismissed Pat Cummins, and Shami picked up his sixth wicket of the innings when he bounced Nathan Lyon out.

But Aussie pacers Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc frustrated the Indians and added 36 runs for the last wicket. While chasing down the target, India needed a solid start to make it 2-0. However, KL Rahul who scored two runs in the first essay continued his horrific show scoring a duck in the second innings. The opener found a different way of getting out this time. Rahul dragged on a Mitchell Starc delivery onto his stumps while trying to leave it alone.

KL Rahul had played seven overseas Tests this year and crossed fifty once. He scored 149 in the final innings of the final match in England. The right-hander also flopped in the home series against Windies scoring 0, 4 and 33 not out. An unfortunate injury from Prithvi Shaw forced India to give KL Rahul a chance of opening the Test. It would be difficult for him to retain his position if the young lad fully recovers from his injury.
