The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has put aside any back injury concerns before the final and fourth Test match against Australia. Kohli had to battle hard against a stiff back in the first innings of the third Test match. Subsequently, he was attended by Indian team physio, Patrick Farhart, during the course of his innings. In fact, Kohli decided to take on the Australian bowlers after the lunch break on Day two after he had issues with his back. He had to also leave the field on some occasions.

However, Kohli is confident that he can manage it as he has had issues with his back since 2011. Kohli gave credit to his fitness and said it he has been able to cope up with it because of the high fitness level he has set up for himself.

Kohli confident of dealing with back woes.

“I’ve had this issue since 2011, it’s nothing new,” he said. I’ve been able to manage it because of the physical effort I’ve put in over the past few years. And when you have a back that has these issues you can only maintain it that way.”
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is fit as a fiddle and he feels that if a workload of a player is high, there can be cramps. However, Kohli is not worried about it, as he has dealt with it before.
“I’ve been able to manage it because of the physical effort I’ve put in over the past few years. And when you have a back that has these issues you can only maintain it that way.  In fact, I’m not too concerned with it, you just have to manage it physically and stay ahead of the injury and I have been able to do for it now.”

Subsequently, Kohli eyes other ways to jostle against his cramps. In fact, Kohli believes it is okay to have one or two niggles if a player can cope up with it.

“I’m sure I’ll find other ways and more options to keep countering that. I mean, it’s impossible to keep going without niggles and I think it’s fine to have a few niggles here and there. You just need to be able to manage it.”
Virat Kohli is one of the fittest players in the game. It is this positive mindset of Kohli that separates him from the rest. The fourth and final Test match will take place at Sydney from January 3.
