The Indian skipper Virat Kohli has finally shared his thoughts on the ball-tampering row of former Australian captain Steven Smith and David Warner. Kohli said it was sad to see both the Australian talisman batsmen going through a tough time. Both Warner and Smith were heavily criticised for their actions and had to go through a lot after the aftermath of the ball-tampering controversy.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli said the thing that hit him the hardest was when David Warner, Steven Smith and Cameron Bancroft were escorted at the airport. All the three players had to go through a heavy security when they were escorted out.

It was sad to see – Virat Kohli.

“Well, it was sad to see. As big a thing as it became, you never want to see anyone go through that because I have known David and I have known Steve as well,” said Kohli while talking to former Australia legendary wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist on Fox Sports.

The ball tampering incident turned out to be a big altercation for Australia. The Australian national team also had to suffer as Warner and Smith were their prolific batsmen.

“The things that hit me the hardest was the way they were received at the airports and the way they were escorted out,” said Kohli.

The banned dual of David Warner and Steven Smith will complete their ban on 30 March 2019. On the other hand, Cameron Bancroft’s nine months ban will end in the ongoing month of December.

Meanwhile, Australia has clearly missed the services of David Warner and Steven Smith. Both of them should be automatic comebacks for the forthcoming World Cup 2019.

On the other hand, India is in a commanding position as they need another four wickets to win the first Test match.
