After a stunning victory at Adelaide, Indians were completely outplayed by Australians at Perth. They secured a clinical victory by over-smarting the visitors in all departments of the game. Meanwhile, the former Indian opening batsman, Virender Sehwag points out certain aspects, which played villain role to India at Perth.

Virender Sehwag mentions certain mistakes:

Speaking of the loss in the second Test, Virender Sehwag quoted that India played with 4 pure tail-ender batsmen, which needs to be sorted out by the management. Further, he also highlighted the poor run-of-form by the Indian openers.

On Day 1, Australia got a brilliant start with Aaron Finch and Marcus Harris stitching 112-run partnership for the opening wicket. On the other hand, Indian openers, Murali Vijay-KL Rahul pair put 6 and 0 together in both innings.

Digging into his tweet, it read ”Plenty can be learned from a loss. India not only played 4 fast bowlers but 4 number 11 batsmen who had to bat 8-9-10-11. Still, Australia got 100 + start and India started poorly in both innings. Hope India can turn things around in Melbourne.”

As it happened:

Australians have displayed a great grit and determination right from the word Go, after the toss. Australian openers batted out first session brilliantly to put handy runs on the board. It was followed by decent contributions by the remaining batsmen.

They were fabulous in their bowling approach as well. If not Virat Kohli’s magical century, Australia would have pocketed the game within three days of time. Though Indian bowlers pulled up their socks in the third innings, Usman Khawaja stood tall for the hosts.

When it all boiled down to 287-run target, Mitchell Starc and Hazlewood gave a brilliant start while Nathan Lyon broke India’s backbone by rattling the wickets of Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rishabh Pant. However, it was a great game for Australia, especially, in a must-win clash.
