Team India along with their skipper Virat Kohli trained hard at the gym under the watchful eyes of trainer Shankar Basu after rain washed out the practice session at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

With the Twenty20s done and dusted, all eyes are now on the four-match Border Gavaskar Test series. It will be India’s best opportunity to script history Down Under. However, India have an abysmal record in Australia as they are yet to win a Test series before.

Although India have a poor record overseas this year having lost to South Africa and England earlier this year, thus they will be desperate to overturn their record against a weak Australian side. The host will be without their three star batsmen, Steven Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft. The trio is still on a ban for their involvement in the ball tampering scandal.

The first Test commences from December 6 at Adelaide, and Virat Kohli & Co have started their full-fledged training in a bid to take an early lead. However, the unexpected rain washed away their training session as it poured down heavily throughout the day.

But this couldn’t stop India from training as they moved to the gym to concentrate on some fitness drills. Post the session, Virat Kohli posted a picture from the same to let everybody know that rain couldn’t stop them from training.

The rain doesn’t seem to be going away so we decided to make something of our day ✌️?. Gotta love a good workout with the boys. #makeeverydaycount,” Virat Kohli wrote on Instagram.

The rain is also likely to wash away the only practice match starting from November 27 against Cricket Australia XI.
