Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman has backed India to win the ongoing four-Test match series by 3-1. The series is currently tied at 1-1. India had won the first match by 31 runs whereas Australia had won the second match by a mammoth margin of 146 runs. The visitors had messed up their selection in the previous match as they went with four pacers.

However, it is believed that Ravindra Jadeja or Bhuvneshwar Kumar would have been more lethal than Umesh Yadav. Meanwhile, VVS Laxman said India have the ability to come up roses in the Australian conditions.

India will like to make a solid comeback.

Australia is without the services of David Warner and Steve Smith, which has left a big void. Thus, Laxman believes India will not get a better chance to win a series in Australia for the first time.

“I expect the series to close 3-1 in India’s favour. I don’t see any draws in Australian conditions. I don’t think India would have a better opportunity. And I am not saying so because there is no Steve Smith and Dave Warner. I am saying this because they have the potential. I got it totally wrong in England when I thought India will win 4-1. But I think they have the ability,” Laxman told Aajtak in an interview.
