India’s debutant Mayank Agarwal has had a dream start to his career. Mayank grabbed a fine catch while fielding at short mid-wicket to dismiss Australian opener, Aaron Finch. India’s premier fast bowler Ishant Sharma drifted the ball on the pads and Finch flicked it towards the close-in fielder. Agarwal was in the right position at the right time and took a blinder of a catch while diving to his left.

Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal had a prolific start as he scored an organised 76 in his maiden innings at the International circuit. Agarwal had to wait in the wings for a long time to get his first opportunity at the topmost level. However, Agarwal made sure he was ready to grab it when the chance was thrown at him.

The greenhorn opener made an impressive start as he has a compact technique under his arsenal. In fact, Agarwal was able to take the attack against the best bowler in the series, Nathan Lyon – who has scalped 17 wickets in the series thus far.

Thus, the visitors were able to check the right boxes in their batting innings. It isn’t the easiest of pitches to score runs fluently as the tourists scored their runs at 2.3 runs/over.
