India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami was able to put on end to the dangerous looking partnership of Peter Handscomb and Shaun Marsh. Though the runs were coming in a trickle for the hosts, Handscomb and Marsh were slowly getting into their stride. However, Shami was able to dismiss Peter Handscomb on a short-pitched delivery.

Right-Handed Australian batsman tried to pull the ball, however, he could only find Cheteshwar Pujara at short mid-wicket. Thus, Mohammed Shami bowled with fire as he had earlier scalped the wicket of debutant Marcus Harris.

The southpaw batsman tried to cut a ball which was too close to him and nicked it behind to Rishabh Pant. Consequently, Mohammed Shami bowled a fiery spell as he got the ball to reverse back.

On the other hand, Ravichandran Ashwin scalped two wickets to push Australia behind the eighth-ball. Aswhin first got the better off Aaron Finch and then forced Khawaja to go for the big shot, which was nicely taken by Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, India has set up a target of 323 runs. Australia is currently 104-4 at the end of fourth day’s play and India requires another six wickets to win.

Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara both scored fifties to help strengthen India’s lead. Rahane scored 70 to strike back form whereas Pujara continued with his first innings form to knock another fifty. Consequently, it was a dominating display from the Indian batsmen. However, they gave away the advantage baton as they lost the last five wickets for only 25 runs.

India’s tail went berserk after the Lunch session and lost wickets in a jiffy. Meanwhile, India will aim to seal the match tomorrow.
