After India had suffered a beating at the hands of South Africa and England in Tests early this year, Sachin Tendulkar feels Virat Kohli-led team could win the four-match Test series in Australia this time. Meanwhile, the former India captain reckoned the current Aussie side lacks experience, and that is where the visitors could pouch on.

India has a real chance in Australia this time, says Sachin

As far as records are concerned, the team India hasn’t had the best of outings Down Under in recent past. Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, India got whitewashed in 2011/12, and later in 2014/15, Australia had won the four-match series 2-0.

However, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar feels India can win the Test series in Australia. With the likes of experienced David Warner and Steven Smith not in the current Australian set-up, Sachin said India have a real chance of scripting history under Virat Kohli’s captaincy.

“We stand a very good chance, so if you see the Australia teams in the past and compare them to this one, yes we have a very good chance. Possibly our best chance to go out there and beat them. I mean playing cricket at the highest level, I don’t think it is at the highest level at this stage. I think they have had better sides in the past,” Sachin Tendulkar said.

Moreover, Sachin Tendulkar also added Virat Kohli is correctly leading his team, as he is also adding runs to the tally on a regular basis. Meanwhile, Kohli had recently won the Tests and ODI series against the Windies at home and had achieved a lot of success in recent times as well.

Virat is leading the team well

“I think it is his hunger….his temperament. The ability to assess the situation. Because there is no set formula to that. Every day you are going to have some different challenges, and you have got to have that adaptability and flexibility in your mind to go out and assess, and he does that rather well. And one good thing is he is hungry forever, that’s how a batsman should be,” Sachin Tendulkar added.

However, India will tour to Australia for three ODIs, four Tests and three T20Is commencing from November 21 in Adelaide.
