After a thrilling T20I series, its time for the Test format, where every department and every player get tested. Over the years, team India has pretty much relied on their batting lineup, but of late, bowling section is showing their strength, especially, in overseas tours. Bowlers have done exceptionally well then the batsmen in the last couple of series. Ishant Sharma, Bumrah and Shami delivering the goods consistently.

In the previous tours to Australia, India struggled with their bowling lineups, as Australian batsmen always knocked mammoth tallies on the board. Though there were occasions when team India showed their brilliance, mostly, Australian batsmen were on the top.

Meanwhile, speaking in an interview, Ishant Sharma expressed the current fast bowling setup has the required ingredients in them to deliver the goods. Further, he added the competition in the ranks will certainly push the individual to perform.

Ishant went on to say he is not a person to look into the past and wants to deliver the goods as a unit. He stressed no one in the side is looking individual performances, as winning the series is the only aim.

“We have a healthy competition in the pace attack, a lot of fast bowlers are there. If you are not doing well, you can be left sitting out and watching the game. I think it’s a great opportunity to do well in any conditions. We (as a pace attack) did well on the last two tours of South Africa and England.

“We are not even thinking like we have a pressure situation, we always think that we have an opportunity to do well instead. I’m not that kind of person who thinks about what happened in the past. I am always looking forward to what happens in the future. We don’t even think of personal performances — just one aim, to win a series in Australia.”

Well, as Ishant Sharma said, the current pace attack has got talent in their kitty to outsmart Australian batsmen. All in all, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out in the upcoming series.
