The long wait to see Team India in action is finally coming to an end today. After playing their last international game way back in early March, Virat Kohli & Co. are finally taking the field today when the lock horns against Australia in the first of three-match ODI series.
Another factor that makes the match special is the return of fans to the stadium. High-profile cricket is being played since June but without any fan in the stadium. But on Friday, there will be some normalcy as the Sydney Cricket Ground will be filled to 50% capacity.
Team India have arrived in Australia brimming with confidence, having won the Test and ODI series on their last visit two years ago. The Men in Blue have defeated Australia in an ODI series earlier this year too and will be keen to mark their comeback to international cricket with a win.
For Australia, Steve Smith and David Warner will be available this time. The duo was banned for India’s triumphs in 2018-19 but now strengthen the hosts in all formats. With both the teams close to full strength, one can expect a fierce contest.
