Australia vs South Africa 2018: Pat Cummins Justifies his Stun Reaction

Australia’s fast bowler Pat Cummins has justified his stun reaction. Cummins gave a surprising reaction to David Miller’s dismissal in the second ODI against South Africa. Meanwhile, Australia was finally able to end its drought as they won the second ODI by seven runs. Thus, it was a much-needed win for the Aussies after going through their darkest hour.

Marcus Stoinis had appealed against David Miller but could not get the decision in his favor. However, the DRS came in a reverse order which left Pat Cummins confused. The ball was the hitting the stumps and Miller had to return back to the pavilion.

Cummins comes up with his justification.

In fact, it was a crucial wicket for the hosts as David Miller was batting on 51 and was looking good to steer South Africa to the finishing line.

Pat Cummins said while talking to Direct Hit with Glenn Maxwell, “I was a bit slow, I probably haven’t done the bowlers much of a favor,” he said with a smile. “We are normally the smart ones, I always try and say. I thought there had to be something else like D-R … what is it? Snicko or something had to come up?”

Cummins said he had no idea what was going on as there was confusion on the big screen. However, when the decision was displayed on the screen, Australians started celebrating but Cummins was still not over the confusion.

“Anyway, I had no idea what was going on and then everyone else started celebrating. I had someone say, ‘when you’re playing a game and you realize the iron is still on’,” he said.

In fact, Pat Cummins had a laugh on his reaction. Cummins replied to Cricket Australia’s post, “When you lose credit card Roulette at dinner…”.
