Australia vs Sri Lanka 2019: 2nd Test, Manuka Oval, Canberra – Day 1 Report; After a fine time, the Australian cricket team has put on a great show, as far as their batting department is concerned. The opener  Joe Burns and the southpaw Travis Head were the stars for Australia, who batted brilliantly to smash quite a few records for the team.

Joe Burns on course for a maiden double century:

Initially, it was Australia, who won the toss and chose to bat first. The start wasn’t that great as Sri Lankan bowlers got better of Marcus Harris and Usman Khawaja. Harris was dismissed for 11 runs to his name while Usman Khawaja bagged a duck in his kitty.

Marnus Labuschagne, who was pretty impressive in the recent past failed to carry on his form. However, it was Travis Head, who joined Joe Burns in the middle to keep Islanders chasing the leather more often than not.

The duo was brilliant in finding the fence more often than not. From 28/3, they both put on a fantastic 308-run partnership for the fourth wicket to smash quite a few records on their way. Both played at a great strike to put Australians on the driving seat.

Travis Head, who scored 161 lost a bit a concentration, which saw Vishwa Fernando bag his third wicket in the innings. On the other hand, Joe Burns showed his worth as the batsman, who carried his bat right throughout the day.
