Former England skipper Michael Vaughan heaped high praise on Jhye Richardson. Vaughan took to his Twitter account and said Jhye Richardson is a high-class bowler. The prodigy bowler continued with his good form and scalped three wickets on his Test debut. The right-hander took three wickets for 26 runs in the 14 overs he bowled on the opening day of his Test career.

Richardson has impressed since coming into the fold and he was right on the money on his opening day of work in the red ball version. Meanwhile, the young fast bowler had impressed in the three-match ODI series against India, which hosts lost by 2-1.

Richardson has made an impressive entry to Test cricket.

In fact, Richardson was able to get rid of Indian skipper Virat Kohli in all the three matches. He had taken four wickets for 26 runs in the opener of the series. Thus, he awarded the Man of the match in the first game.

Jhye Richardson was at his best again on his Test debut. He took the wicket of Sri Lankan skipper Dinesh Chandimal, Dhananjaya de Silva and bowled Kusal Mendis with a beauty.

Jhye had also impressed against India.

Thus, he was instrumental in skittling out the visitors for a paltry score of 144 runs. Furthermore, Australia’s rookie vice-captain Pat Cummins also continued his good form as he took four wickets in the first dig. Moreover, Mitchell Starc took two wickets and completed 200 wickets in the longest format of the game. Nathan Lyon scalped one wicket.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka’s wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella played a crucial knock of 64 runs to help his side get to 144 as they were tottering at 66-5 at one stage.
