Australian Stars Enjoy Day Out In Kolkata Ahead Of Second ODI

Australia might have lost the first One-Day International against India but it did not stop David Warner and James Faulkner from making the most of an off day in Kolkata. The teams are currently in Kolkata to play the second ODI, scheduled to be played at Eden Gardens on Thursday (September 21). However, their preparation has taken a beating due to persistent rain.

But instead of spending the day in the hotel, Warner and Faulkner fully capitalised on the break from cricket and explored the City of Joy. Warner took to Instagram to post a picture of himself along with Faulkner with the caption:“Cock&Bull does Quest Mall ??? @jfaulkner44 #kolkata””

Meanwhile, Kolkata Met director Ganesh Das is hopeful that rain will not be too heavy during the upcoming clash.

“By September 21, the circulation will be gone but in this month rain is a possibility especially in the evening. It may not, however, continue for too long,” said Das.

On the other hand, Cricket Association of Bengal pitch curator Sujan Mukherjee has assured that the ground is in perfect condition to hold the match.

“The pitch and ground conditions is just perfect. It’s an ideal condition what’s required for a One-Day International contest but I cannot say whether it will rain or not. Who would have thought India will score 281/7 from being five down for 87 in the 22nd over. I cannot say they will make how many runs but the wicket will help both batsmen and bowlers” Mukherjee said.

“We are equipped to cover the entire ground and there is enough machinery to clear up even if it rains but it depends on the intensity and duration,” he added.

An avid cricket lover, I just love this game more than anything. Writing about cricket keeps me closer to the game.
