Avesh Khan: We have been watching the plight of migrant workers, it’s heart breaking to say the least

“We have been watching the plight of migrant workers. It’s heart-breaking to say the least. When I learned that my friend Arbaaz Khan and his elder brother Imran, and my father’s friend Rahul Jain are distributing food, I decided to join them. I felt a lot of satisfaction in doing this,” Avesh Khan was quoted as saying by Times of India.

“We saw children sitting on top of trucks in sizzling heat. As soon as trucks stopped at the toll gate, they requested if anyone has something to eat. Whatever eatables we had, it was all finished in just 45 minutes. I am proud to say I saw many people helping them with food and other essentials. Hope these workers get to their homes soon,” he added.

In India, the novel coronavirus pandemic toll has crossed over 100,00. It has caused deaths to over 3,100 people. The government has decided to extend the lockdown to May 31.
