On Sunday (3rd November) night, the visitors Bangladesh secured a memorable victory against the hosts India in the series opener of the three-match T20I series at Arun Jaitley Stadium (Delhi).

After winning the toss, Bangladesh restricted the hosts to 148/6 (20 overs) in the first innings. Later, the visiting side chased down the target in 19.3 overs after losing three wickets. With this seven-wicket victory, the visitors have taken the 1-0 lead in this series with two to go.

i) The visitors Bangladesh won this T20I by seven wickets. It was their first-ever T20I victory against India. Before this T20I, Bangladesh suffered eight consecutive T20I defeats against India.

ii) Bangladesh won this match by seven wickets. It was the second-largest away T20I victory (by wickets) for Bangladesh. Their record in this list is winning by eight wickets against the Netherlands at The Hague on 25th July 2012.

ii) Also, Rohit Sharma became the joint second-most–capped T20I player. Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi also played 99 T20Is. Only Shoaib Malik (Pakistan/ICC World XI) is ahead from Rohit and Afridi in this list as Malik has played 111 T20Is.

iii) At the end of this match, Rohit Sharma has scored 2,452 T20I runs. Rohit Sharma is now the most run-scorer in T20I history. The previous record was 2,450 T20I runs by Virat Kohli (India).

Bangladesh

i) The leg-spinner Aminul Islam had the bowling figures of 3-0-22-2. It is the second-best T20I bowling figures by a Bangladesh bowler against India. The record is 4-0-37-3 by Al-Amin Hossain at Dhaka on 24th February 2016.

ii) Bangladesh batsmen Soumya Sarkar and Mushfiqur Rahim put the 60 runs partnership for the third wicket. It is the second-highest T20I partnership for Bangladesh against India for any wicket. The record is 65 runs partnership between Mushfiqur Rahim and Sabbir Rahman at Colombo (RPS) on 14th March 2018.

iii) Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim remained not out on 60 runs. It is the third-highest individual score for a Bangladesh batsman against India in T20I history. The top two records are 77 runs by Sabbir Rahman (at Colombo, RPS on 18th March 2018) and 72* by Mushfiqur Rahim (at Colombo, RPS on 14th March 2018).
