Bangladesh vs Windies 2018: 2nd Test, Dhaka, Day 1 – Review; After bagging the first Test at Chittagong, the hosts once again started things on a subtle note in Dhaka as well. The batting section did well enough to put their noses ahead in the Test. However, Windies wouldn’t be that worried, as they scalped five wickets in the day.

Shadman Islam knocks 76 on debut:

Initially, it was Bangladesh, who won the toss and asked the visitors to bowl first. Again, Soumya Sarkar walked back for a cheap score, who knocked 19. On the other end, it was a debutant, Shadman Islam, who batted like a dream.

However, Mohammad Mithun and Islam tried to balance the things by playing defensive cricket. Just when things looked brilliant for Bangladesh, they lost Mithun and Islam in the gap of ten runs to push the Windies back in the game.

Shakib Al Hasan delivers:

It was a golden opportunity for Shadman Islam to enter the elite list of players scoring century on a debut game, but unfortunately, couldn’t do so. Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan found his magical touch, who knocked a brilliant unbeaten 55.

For Windies, Devendra Bishoo picked a couple of wickets while Kemar Roach, Lewis and Roston Chase chipped in with each wicket. All in all, it was a decent day for both the sides, but Bangladesh would be a bit happier side.
