Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe 2018: 2nd Test, Dhaka – Match Review;  The top-notch display of skills by Bangladesh thumped Zimbabwe at Dhaka to draw the two-match Test series. The hosts ticked all the boxes in the game to outsmart Zimbabwe by a margin of 218 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim’s double century and Mehidy Hasan’s eight-for make the headlines.

Mushfiqur Rahim-Mominul Show helps Bangladesh dictate terms:

Initially, Zimbabwe started the things in a pretty fine way by knocking out Bangladesh top 3 wickets in quick succession. However, it was Mushfiqur Rahim and Mominul Haque, who helped the hosts to settle the things. Mominul knocked 161 to his name while Mushfiqur Rahim finished with an unbeaten 219*. The duo added a 144-run partnership between them before calling the curtains on their first innings. In reply, apart from Brendon Taylor, none of the Zimbabwe batsmen gave their helping hand to push the tally. They were rolled out for 304 on the board thus providing a huge lead for the home side.

Taking the lead, Bangladesh added 224 runs in the second innings to set a massive target on the board. Ironically, Zimbabwe managed to level Bangladesh’s second innings tally, but the lead remained, as the margin of the victory. Taijul Islam bagged a five-wicket haul in the first innings while Mehidy Hasan took that role in the second innings. Mehidy Hasan finished with eight-wicket hail while Taijul grabbed a seven-wicket haul in the match.
