BCB ACU Close The Case After Interrogating Krishmar Santokie, Says No Enough Evidence Against Him

Experienced pacer Krishmar Santokie has been interrogated by Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB’s) anti-corruption unit in the wake of his controversial first over in the inaugural match of the Bangladesh Premier League. The 35-year-old West Indies fast bowler bowled a suspicious wide delivery and a no-ball in the controversial first over of the match between Sylhet Thunders and Chattogram Challengers on November 11.

The allegations against the left-arm pacer have been levelled by Sylhet Thunders’ team director Tanjil Chowdhury. Santokie delivered a huge wide ball in the third ball of the over before bowling a no-ball 2 balls later. What made his bowling over more alarming is the large extent of his overstepping for the no-ball.

However, in the latest development, Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB’s) anti-corruption unit has not found anything suspicious against Sylhet Thunder’s West Indian pacer Krishmar Santokie for his bowling. It has been learnt that ACU has now closed the case after interrogating Krishmar Santokie.

Not enough evidence against Krishmar Santokie: BCB ACU

The fans started to compare Santokie’s bowling to Mohammad Amir‘s no-balls in the 2010 Lord’s Test. However, it has now been clear that Santokie was not involved in any corrupt activity according to ACU. “Whenever there is any evident doubt, they (ACU) normally investigate the matter. The ACU may not have gotten any conclusive evidence in this issue and it is the reason why the matter did not come to us.

Following media reports, they (ACU) have investigated the matter but in this case, they did not have enough evidence. I think that was the case in this matter too,” Bangladesh Cricket Board CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury told the media reporters.

As per Bangladeshi news outlet The Daily Star, Sylhet team director, Tanjil Chowdhury requested the BCB to investigate Santokie’s alarming over that include a wide and no-ball.
